Droid users all had pee their pants due to excitement as the anticipated 2.1 update of Android was released. The new Android 2.1 was expected to include cool Droid apps like 3D Gallery app, pinch to zoom support, Weather and News app, Live wallpapers and voice to text entry to name a few.
The 3D Gallery app will allow the users to view and share photos from the user’s online Picassa Web albums in a 3D layout; the pinch to zoom will be available in browsing the WEB, Google Maps and Gallery; the Weather and News app plus widget will enable the user to pull up weekly and hourly weather forecasts based on the user’s location, plus news headlines.
Motorola Droid apps are about 10,000 in Google’s Android Market. While the number of Droid apps is dwarfed by the iPhone’s/iPod touch applications available, it is undeniable that the number of Droid apps is rapidly growing.
