The droid cell phone by Motorola is actually the company’s second attempt in creating an Android phone, although Motorola did became successful in bringing its earlier version right. Most importantly, it’s one of the company’s first phones that can legitimately rival the iPhone – coming out one step ahead in some of its significant features.
Although the droid cell phone is owned by Motorola, this smart phone is distributed by Verizon network. Physically droid is not really that much to stare at due to its sharp edge angular frame giving it a boxy image. Its hefty 6 ounce weight also makes the phone ideal as a pocket-friendly device. Its 3.7 inch touch screen display is also has a much bigger shade than Smart iPhone 3G S. Droid compared to iPhone is built with much higher resolution with 854×440 pixels compared to iPhone’s 480×320 pixel. Virtual keyboard is visually fantastic and its ability to response quickly is also excellent.
The droid cell phone by Motorola also offers an additional home screen feature that let’s you access the phone’s basic commands which includes contacts, maps, browser, and so forth. You can also customize this feature by adding your favorite applications. Its built-in 5 megapixel camera which can reach up to 4x digital zooming also produces photos with lesser sound and can even work in dim lighted areas, owing thanks to its built-in LED flash.
This phone’s most exciting feature though is its Google maps application, with built-in turn by turn voice guiding navigator. Complete with speech to text features, Google’s maps are layered with satellite view and traffic data.
