One noticeable about Droid phone reviews all over the net is that they have pleased Motorola too much. On the onset of the Droid release last November 9,one of the reviews said that the Droid phone is the best device the Verizon Wireless has. It is a very high compliment for a phone that was release only a few weeks ago when the review was written. This made the consumers fickle whether this phone is nothing more than a sexy phone and only to be set aside in a few months (just like any other devices) or will this phone become a timeless classic.
Just like any other smart phone, the Droid has its drawbacks. Several reviews mentioned it’s lack of multitouch support, autosyncing software; one Droid phone review also mentioned the small memory available for applications—only 560 MB internal memory and it’s lackluster camera. Its QWERTY keys are squashed which makes it difficult for the user to text quickly. The phone does not support Bluetooth calling as well.
But the Droid is getting a lot of lauds due to its Android 2.0 operating system, enhanced web browser, speed, large WVGA display and resolution, audio quality and choice of physical keyboard, not to mention the Google Maps Navigation which the phone offers for free among other features. The Droid’s technology covers 12,000 applications all fully integrated with Google. So setting the drawbacks aside, the Droid is the smartest phone that you can have to date.
Although Verizon and Motorola refrained from referring Droid as the iPhone killer, it is undeniable that this phone has a lot more niceties compared to the Apple’s iPhone.
